Controversy as group gives out ‘naked woman’ as plaque for Benue Celebrity Awards
By Vera Enenche
A slue of controversy has greeted the plaque designed for this year’s Benue Celebrity Awards.
The award was put together by the office of the special adviser to the state governor on entertainment in collaboration with the Benue State Government.
The controversial plaque was designed in form of a naked woman with dangling mammary glands.
Reacting to the development, fiery blogger and highly revered OAP, Naomi Oboyi, famously known as Naomi De Diva said the plaque does not represent the true image of Benue State.
The first lady of Vision FM, Abuja wondered why the governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom who had recently dedicated the state to God could allow such a horrible crwatie to pass his hallowed office to the public glare.
The outspoken radio present-cum-MC said, “The maiden edition of the Benue Celebrity Awards 2016 which took place yesterday December 15, has come and gone but not without criticisms from people, especially entertainment pundits.
This award ceremony was organised by the office of the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Entertainment in collaboration with the Benue Stat Government.
How on earth our God-fearing Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom approved this ‘creature’ still baffles me…
Is this to reaffirm the ubiquitous beliefs held in the minds of outsiders about the high level of promiscuity in Benue???
This award plaque ‘woman’ though….
Who is she?
What does she represent?
What inspired the choice of this plaque?
Are they saying Benue women are not decent? NO!!! I beg to disagree… This is not the picture of a true Benue woman.
QUESTIONS…. AND MORE QUESTIONS….
These are some of the pressing questions begging for answers…
Anyway, congratulations to all the winners…
On his part, social media enthusiast, Bem Jabez Ordedoo MO said, “Hahahaha godess OF BAAL now presented as an award? Kai GOMNA WAM kaa neer keng. Kpei make I no talk before police go come.”
Another social media user, Eder Aji said, “What does this award symbolise? No I am beginning to agree with this popular saying that Benue people use their wives to entertain visitors. So how did the governor allow this pass through his desk?”
