Controversy brews in Okpokwu as newly-inaugurated chairman threatens to recall Abba Moro from Senate

A political storm is brewing in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State after newly-inaugurated Chairman Hon. Adah Mathew Inalegwu, aka, Nasko hinted at plans to recall Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro.

IDOMA VOICE recalls that the controversy began after a video surfaced showing Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo whispering to Nasko, who then warned that Moro would face a recall if he continued to attack Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The tension stems from Moro’s vocal criticism of the governor’s decision to dissolve elected local government councils in the state, which Moro termed undemocratic.

This led to a motion in the Senate to withhold federal funds from Benue’s councils.

However, Governor Alia’s administration refuted these claims, stating that the dissolution was legally executed by the state assembly following fraud allegations.

The governor’s camp has since demanded an apology from Moro, accusing him of hypocrisy given his past as a caretaker chairman.

Reacting to the claim, Media Adviser to Senator Moro, Emmanuel John Eche-Ofun, described the threat as laughable.

He advised the chairman not allow himself to be misled those he claimed have been ‘politically punctured at the moment.”

His post below;

Someone just forwarded a trending video to me in which Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo is seen whispering something to the newly-inaugurated chairman of Okpokwu LGA, Adah Nasko immediately after which the chairman said the Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro would be recalled from the senate if he, Moro continues to attack Governor Alia.
Whatever was whispered to the chairman actually doesn’t concern me but it’s instructive that he dissociates himself from retrogressive politics that has dragged some people down and focuses on how to beat the records set by the senator when he served as chairman of the local government area, especially now that there’s full local government autonomy.

He should not allow himself to be misled or whispered to by those who have misled themselves and are politically punctured at the moment, running from pillar to post in desperate search for party ticket.

Abba Moro remains a pride of the Idoma Nation, an exceptional legislator who has written his name in gold everywhere. The chairman himself knows that the senator is an illustrious son of Okpokwu who he cannot afford to disrespect, no matter the pressure from anyone.
