Controversy over ‘Best Dressed Female’ award to Bobrisky

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has publicly voiced her objections to awarding the ‘Best Dressed Female’ title to the renowned crossdresser, Bobrisky, at a glamorous movie premiere event in Lagos.

The controversial decision, which included a cash prize of N1 million, sparked debate and criticism, with Amusa among the dissenting voices.

Bobrisky, known for captivating the public with his unique fashion sense and persona, was lauded as the best dressed among the female attendees.

However, the award’s selection process has faced scrutiny, with critics like Amusa taking to Instagram to express their dismay. In a video message, Amusa denounced the decision, labeling it a “mockery of the women present” at the event.

She questioned the judging criteria, suggesting that honoring a crossdresser as the best dressed female undermined the efforts of the other women in attendance.

“I was at a colleague of mine’s premiere yesterday, where they said the best dressers are to be picked; one female and one male best dresser. Don’t get me wrong, the winner could be anyone but definitely not a crossdresser. I mean, what’s wrong with us? I don’t understand it,” Amusa remarked.
