The well-being of our beloved sister , Susan Okpe is of paramount interest to us as a Federal Constituency.
I am particularly concerned and worried because Susan is a family friend, as well as, my constituent. I am in constant touch with her and there is no cause for alarm!
As a people, we must work hard, collaborate and synergise with the state government, health workers and other relevant professionals if we must tame the invisible invader, named Covid 19.
My people, it is not time to embark on argument for or against how her case is being handled! Her safety is what we are working on, and I can report that she is in a stable condition!
As humans, I am not oblivious of the human element of disagreement, but when we disagree, we should do so without being disagreeable! The situation doesn’t also call for confrontation or media hoopla. Those planning protest should down tool.
The Benue State Government has a responsibility to safeguard public health, including the health of Susan, which it is doing to the best of its ability.
I therefore, commend the Benue State Covid 19 Task Force led by the Dep Governor, Engr Benson Abounu for trying it’s best in a very very difficult circumstance! The pandemic caught the world napping. Even the best of systems are wobbling and fumbling in handling the menace of Corona Virus! So, whatever lapse or manifest protocol or ethical blunder observed in the manner, our Sister, Susan is being handled should be overlooked.
The focus now is how to improve subsequently! I have been in touch with Susan, her family and the Benue State Govt on how best to handle her case and I can assure you that we are about reaching an amicable solution! We shall conquer Covid 19 in Jesus name!
