A 40-year-old man Identified as Emeka Okwuosa has been remanded in prison for allegedly defiling a 2-year-old girl.
According to the court papers filed before the Magistrate Court in Nsukwa, Delta state, Emeka on May 31st allegedly had canal knowledge of the minor after her father had gone out.
He was arraigned before the Magistrate court yesterday June 19th. The court ordered that he be remanded in the Federal Prison Ogwashi Uku pending advice from Directorate of public prosecution (DPP).
Activist, Harrison Emefiena Gwamnishu, who shared the story online, said the victim’s father, Mr Johnson from Akwa Ibom state, lived in the compound owned by Emeka. He had gone to work on the day the crime was committed, leaving the little girl with his 12 year old Nephew.
Emeka allegedly sent the Nephew on an errand, creating the opportunity for him to rape the minor. The 12 year old boy was first arrested and tortured by the police before investigations later showed that Emeka defiled the minor. Emefiena organized a protest in the state after the police allegedly asked Mr Johnson for N10, 000 before they could do facilitate Emeka’s arrest.
