Court suspends Nnamdi Kanu’s terrorism trial indefinitely

The Federal Government’s appeal seeking reversal of the Court of Appeal judgment is pending before the Supreme Court.

The terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu was on Monday adjourned indefinitely by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Binta Nyako put off the trial sine die at the instance of Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, pending the resolution of the Federal Government’s appeal against the October 13 judgment of the Court of Appeal that discharged him from the terrorism charges.

The Federal Government’s appeal seeking reversal of the Court of Appeal judgment is pending before the Supreme Court.

Two other cases billed for hearing before the court were also put off indefinitely for the same reason.

We had repored that Kanu had refused to appear in court on Monday in protest against the refusal of the federal government to release him from detention as ordered by the Court of Appeal on October 13.
