As part of measures to cushion the effect of COVID-19 in Benue State, the Government has approved Fridays as a work-free day for the state civil servants, to enable them harvest their farm produce.
The State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Ngunan Addingi, made this known in Makurdi, while briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive Council meeting.
According to the commissioner, the approval will take effect from Friday the 6th of November 2020 till 29th January, 2021.
Addingi equally disclosed plans by the State Governor, to present the 2021 budget estimate to the State House of Assembly on Thursday, 5th November 2020.
The State Executive Council also gave approval for the State-owned television station to be connected to satellite and no longer only on internet platforms.
Also members of the public with cases of Police brutality, have been encouraged to submit their complaints to the panel of inquiry set up by the state, for investigation and necessary action.
