COVID-19 palliatives looting: Realities we can’t just pray away by Enenche Enenche

These are pictures from Jos to Gwagwalada. We have seen similar pictures from different parts of the country.

I keep asking, what about those in the remote villages where there is not warehouse in sight?

This reality we can’t wish away. Or hide it under the pretext of our usual religious gymnastics.

These are Christians and Muslims, united by hunger.

Many of your Church members could have been here or presently here. These pictures are for sober reflections.

The same God that divided the red sea, guided the Israelites by pillars of cloud and fire, later told them to carry weapons to fight.

The same God that told them to strike the rock for water, later told them to dig wells.

The same God that sent manners later instructed them to cultivate the land.

We still serve the same God. To the Church in Nigeria, hear this; YOUR DAYS OF MANNERS FROM HEAVEN ARE OVER. Now is the time to cultivate. Now is the time to be actively involved in the chains of productions… that is where my Hand is now.

When God stopped sending manners, do you know some persons probably didn’t go to cultivate the land but praying for the “God of Abraham, Isasc and Jacob” to send manners.

It is happening to the political class we are watching, it would still start to happen to the religious class.

You would be talking on the pulpit, men would rise in hunger walking towards you. All the none Christ doctrines you taught them have failed them.

Stickers, annointing oil, ribbons, necklaces, handkerchiefs, holy water etc have failed them. They would begin to ask questions.

Every manmade doctrine would crumble if at all they have not crumbled. Doctrines of “submission”, doctrines of father in the lord… doctrines to keep men within the framework of control and not to poin them to Christ, but self would crumble.

Even Jesus fed people when they were hungry. I wrote an article some years ago; CAPITALISM AND THE CHURCH. I advised there the need for the Church to massively go into agriculture and other sectors of the economy. I made a case that every church should own a farm. I was called names by some rightwing extremists, but today the realities of that writeup now manifest on our streets.

A revival would breakforth from all these, a revival based on teaching and revealing of Christ and His Love to the Church and World by extension.

Brace up, the manner season is now over, cultivation season is here. Before now to have crowd is a great asset, but as it is now crowd is never an asset but productive crowd is. Get your crowd to be more productive, that is where your safety is.

I leave you with words of Prof PLO Mulumba;

“Our brand of Christianity and Islam must be a brand of Christianity and Islam that is designed to address our needs as a people.

So that we are not brand of people who are subdued and hypnotized in a certain manner who believe that things that require efforts would be earned through prayer and fasting

Religion if misunderstood is an NEGATIVE influence”.

Goodnight Nigeria!
