In line with State Government efforts to keep the people of Benue State safe and free from the deadly pandemic ravaging the World, Honourable commissioner for Housing and Urban development, Chief Ekpe Ogbu has continue his community based sensitization execise and distribution of preventive materials against COVID-19 to his immediate community at Utonkon, Ado Local Government Area.
The sensitization witnessed much turn out of the traditional rulers and relevant Communities based stakeholders, While senitizing and presenting the materials, Chief Ogbu said the gesture had become imperative given the effects of the lockdown on the people occasioned by the need to prevent and contain the rampaging coronavirus which has put the entire world on edge. He, cautioned against large gatherings, social activities and Maintaining social distancing whenever they are out of their comfort zone.
Chief Ekpe Ogbu also explained the importance of regular hand washing with clean water and soap and the use of Hand Sanitizers and face mask.
The items distributed to the communities were hand sanitizers, gloves, face masks and among others.
He enjoined the people to always obey the directive of the state Government in preventing the spread of the Virus from entering the Communities and commended his Boss, Governor Samuel Ortom for being committed and proactive in the fight against Coronavirus and prayed for God to continued to gives him more Strength.
The sensitization execise had the presence of traditional rulers and Communities leaders. In their remarks, the Acting Ward head of Ukwonyo, Prince George Isah applauded the Honourable commissioner for his quality leadership and uncommon care for the community, assuring that the community will adhere strick compliance to the Government directive and put the Preventive materials to proper use.
