The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has said the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has mild side effects.
Ehanire made the statement during a vaccination exercise at the presidential villa on Saturday, March 6.
The minister explained that while the administration of the vaccine is expected to be painless, some vaccinated people may experience small pains.
“The process itself is simple. We are using a narrow gauge syringe, which will be very painless and it is a small quantity that is injected into the muscle of your upper arm.
“The after effect, as we know so far are mild. There can be a small pain in the area where it was injected,” Ehanire said.
He disclosed that a small percentage of people can feel a little bit of discomfort after receiving the jab.
The minister however, stated that there are no severe adverse effects associated with this vaccine.
