The presidency has revealed the reason reason former vice president, Atiku Abubakar is accusing President Bola Tinubu of forging his Chicago University Certificate.
Temitope Ajayi, a Senior Special Assistant to the President on the media, said this when he appeared on Reuben Abati’s show, pointing out that the Chicago State University has already sworn an oath over the matter.
President Bola Tinubu is currently in the middle of controversy over his Chicago State University certificate.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, is insisting that the school documents presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, by Tinubu, were forged.
According to the presidential aide, Atiku who the last election as perhaps his last chance to mount a successful takeback of Aso Rock was soundly defeated, insisting that the former Vice President is a drowning man grabbing at straws.
“There is no basis to forge a degree certificate that you earned, the Chicago State University has consistently affirmed that the same person who is the president of Nigeria attended and graduated from their institution.
“Now, the institution has reaffirmed it under oath.
“There is a reason why Atiku is going to great lengths to find a smoking gun that doesn’t exist.
“He has seen this last election as perhaps his last chance to mount a successful takeback of Aso Rock, soundly defeated, this is a drowning man grabbing at straws.
“There is no need for him to be energizing mobsters to assail the president.
“Elections have been won and lost and Atiku Abubakar should deal with that gracefully and stop being petty and petulant …”
