Food critic Opeyemi Famakin has taken to social media to accuse entertainment mogul Cubana Chiefpriest of threatening his life following a recent review.
Famakin had shared his review of Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant, which he visited on September 11, 2024, in Imo State. On Instagram, Famakin praised the restaurant’s ambiance but criticized the pre-made, microwaved pastries.
In response, Cubana Chiefpriest thanked Famakin in the comments, saying, “Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!”
However, the situation escalated on September 12, 2024, when Famakin alleged that Chiefpriest had threatened him over the review. He posted screenshots of their private messages as evidence. In one screenshot, Chiefpriest wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”
Famakin captioned the screenshot, urging the public to hold Chiefpriest accountable if anything were to happen to him. He wrote, “I know a threat when I see one. I guess it’s time to leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see, but it was a different tone in my DMs.”
