Cultism: NANS declares support for Ilaro SUG President Olatunji, vows to distrupt exams if not released

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Ogun JCC has demand for the immediate release of Comrade Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji, the Students’Union President of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro who was arrested by the police for involving in cultist related activities.

According to the press statement jointly signed by Comrade Tomiwa Bamgbose, Chairman NANS Ogun and Abayomi Sodiya, Public Relations Officer, “Having watched, observed and after carrying out a detailed research and investigation on the allegation levied against.
We make bold today to disclaim this allegation as it has no iota of truth. Comrade Adegboye was subjected to Security screening before becoming the SUG President and was not found wanting, there hasn’t been any record of him being engaged in any immoral act before, why is this allegation coming out this time, days after which the Comrade raised fundamental issues about the community and the school.”

Bamgbose said he believed Comrade Olatunji is being framed by some group of persons and as a result, as Nigerian Students under his leadership will never neglect or forsake brother and Comrade.

He further called on the Inspector General of Police to order the immediate release of our Comrade Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji.
Also, the immediate Intervention of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun through the S.A to the governor on Students’Union affairs, Comr. Adeyemi Azeez to quickly protect us from this libel act and defamation of character as he reminded Comrade Adeyemi Azeez of his promise never to give room for victimization of Student Union leaders under your administration as the governor of the state.

Bamgbose also demand for the immediate postponement of the first semester examination of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro as “Nigerian Students have resolved that examination will not take place if our President, Comrade Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji is not released. NANS hereby call on the rector of the institution Dr. Aluko never to dare Nigerian Students as we demand for the immediate postponement of the examination and reserver of the decision of the school management which suspended Comrade Adegboye Olatunji because he was never given a fair hearing and the court of law has not found him guilty. We are also aware of the threat you issued against any students and staff who go against you on this, your dictatorship style is not accepted as Nigeria students under my watch will expose all your evil plans very soon.” Bamgbose said.

“We also demand that Comrade olatunji should be charge to a competent court of law as he has over stayed the constitutional stipulated time in the police custody without undergoing any trail.”

“We also call on all militant, rugged, dogged and combatant Nigeria Students in Ogun state and across the federation, National and Zonal leadership of NANS, human right activist and freedom fighter to arise as we collectively demand for the immediate release of our Comrade between now and the next 40hours which will laps on Monday, 17th of February,2020 by 7am as we will not hesitate to occupy the streets of Ogun state with our battalion of Students because we believe an injustice to one is an injustice to all.” he added.
