The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue State, Yakubu Mohammed, has given an update on the accident involving some members of the Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria, CWON, in Benue State.
Mohammed confirmed that four persons died in the road accident that happened on Thursday.
He said the accident occurred on Thursday in Makurdi at 11:48 a.m. at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp, Wannune, in Tarka Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, 15 persons were injured in the accident.
He said that both the injured and the dead had been taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital and NKST Hospital, both in Wannune.
“Only one vehicle was involved, a Toyota Hiace which was conveying 19 people.
“Out of the number 18 persons are females and one male adult.
“The cause of the accident is speeding,” Mohammed said.
