Dan Onjeh hails David Mark over bill for establishment Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and former senatorial aspirant in Benue South, Daniel Onjeh has hailed the Senator representing the zone, David Marrk for sponsoring the bill for the establishment of University of Health Sciences, Otukpo
Onjeh, while describing the development as a huge step in the right direction said the institution, if realized would help the Benue South community.
The bill passed first reading at the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday.
In a terse statement, Onjeh, who locked horns against Mark in the 2016 rerun in Benue South, called for collaborative efforts of all sons and daughters of the Idoma, in support of this bill.
He said, “I wish to congratulate Sen. David Mark in advance over the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, (Establishment) Bill 2017, which he is said to have sponsored!
“It’s a huge step in the right direction. Aside the health benefits establishing such health institution to the immediate and host community, if passed and assented by the President of Nigeria; it will serve as a ‘Growth Pole Centre’ for the Benue South. It will create jobs for both the formal and informal sectors.
“I received the news with joy and great excitement, because it goes a long way to justify all our cries for effective and quality representation by legislators representing us at the National Assembly.
“If similar initiatives were taken yearly in the last 17 years, Benue South would have stood taller amongst other senatorial districts. It’s better late than never, thus, we encourage more of this.”
