Dangote Cement Plc management refutes online reports suggesting a sales promotion and price alterations. Contrary to these claims, the company has not reduced the price of a cement bag to N2,400-N2,700 as part of a promotional offer, as reported on various online platforms.
“As per the commitment made to reduce prices and following a periodic review of our operations for efficiency, the management of Dangote Cement PLC wishes to inform our esteemed customers, stakeholders and the public that effective October 9 2023. This is to inform the general public that the sale of Dangote Cement at a promotional factory price of N2, 410 per bag. Transportation and offloading cost to any location in Nigeria is N300 per bag,” reads one of the posts
Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, labeled these reports as deceitful, malevolent, and inaccurate. He emphasized that the management has taken official steps to alert law enforcement agencies to identify and expose those responsible for spreading this misleading information.
Chiejina urged customers and stakeholders to continue supporting the Dangote Cement brand for its superior quality, cautioning against fraudulent individuals attempting to swindle them.
BUA Group recently announced a reduction in ex-factory cement prices to N3,500 per bag, while the current ex-factory price for Dangote Cement stands at N4,650, being sold at N5,000 in the market. However, market reports indicate a scarcity of the product.
