Davido could be future Osun Governor – Ben Murray-Bruce

Former Bayelsa East senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has expressed strong confidence that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, could one day emerge as the Governor of Osun State.
Speaking in a recent edition of his Common Sense series, Murray-Bruce described Davido as a political figure in the making, backed by a strong family legacy and national popularity.
“David Adeleke, the global phenomenon better known as Davido, is undeniably one of Nigeria’s most valuable cultural exports and an international music icon,” he said. “But beyond the stage and the spotlight, there’s a politically conscious side to him that many don’t see.”
Murray-Bruce revealed that Davido himself admitted to having deep political interests and a defined ideology, a trait he believes is embedded in the Adeleke family’s political lineage. The singer’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the current Governor of Osun State, while another uncle, the late Isiaka Adeleke, also governed the state during the Babangida military era.
“With such a background,” Murray-Bruce said, “it’s not far-fetched to see Davido one day contesting and winning the governorship of Osun State—especially if he channels his political instincts strategically.”
He added that more entertainers should consider politics, citing their ability to resonate with broad demographics and bring fresh energy to leadership.
“Davido, if you run, I predict you will win,” he concluded.
