In a heartwarming gesture of generosity, renowned Nigerian afrobeats artist Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has donated a staggering sum of N237 million to several orphanages across Nigeria. Making the announcement on social media, Davido expressed his gratitude to all the donors who contributed to this noble cause.
The donation, which was made through The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), saw funds disbursed to 424 orphanages, benefiting a total of 13,818 children. The distribution of the funds was carefully managed by the DAF Disbursement Committee, led by Mrs. Titi Adebayo.
Established in 2022 with a strong desire to assist others and create a framework for ongoing charitable works, the DAF has made significant strides in improving the lives of countless children. Davido’s previous donations, particularly in 2021 after his birthday, left a profound impact on his heart, reinforcing his commitment to uplifting the less privileged.
Through the DAF’s efforts in reaching out to compassionate individuals and corporations across various sectors and regions, the substantial sum of N237 million was raised, enabling this significant contribution to orphanages.
Davido expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors, acknowledging that this act of kindness would not have been possible without their unwavering support. He emphasized the foundation’s steadfast commitment to uplift and support vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
The David Adeleke Foundation continues to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need, exemplifying the belief that “We rise by lifting others.” Davido’s dedication to using his platform to serve others stands as an inspiring example, bringing hope and positive change to the lives of countless children and orphanages across the country.
