Award-winning musician and philanthropist, Davido, has extended a helping hand to a TikToker who caught his attention with her video.
Tunde Ednut shared a video featuring a woman who was going to bed while drinking garri (a Nigerian staple made from cassava) due to her financial constraints. In the clip, the woman candidly revealed her daily life and her makeshift dinner of garri, milk, and biscuits. She explained that she intended to go to bed hungry so she could afford breakfast the next day, but hunger eventually compelled her to eat.
Davido watched the video and was entertained by it. Promptly, he offered to provide financial aid to the woman. Tunde Ednut posted a screenshot of their conversation, where Davido pledged to give the lady N2 million.
Expressing his intentions, Davido messaged, “I love this, I wanna send her money. Help me get her details thanks. Yeah, I’ll send you 2m tomorrow to give her.”
The gesture received admiration in the blog’s comment section, highlighting Davido’s compassionate nature.
This isn’t the first instance of Davido’s benevolence towards individuals online. Earlier this year, he gifted a fervent fan who adorned his tricycle with Davido stickers a sum of N1 million. The gesture was captured on Tunde Ednut’s Instagram, which caught Davido’s attention. In the message exchange, Davido promised the fan N1 million, and he fulfilled his promise after locating the fan.
Additionally, Davido recently boasted about contributing over N200 million to various orphanages across Nigeria. Through his David Adeleke Foundation, he emphasized his commitment to aiding those less fortunate. The foundation disbursed a total of N237 million to support the underprivileged.
