Davido joins Recording Academy as voting member ahead of 2026 Grammys
Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has officially joined the Recording Academy as a voting member ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.
With this new status, the singer will help decide nominees and winners for future Grammy categories.
Describing the recognition as a “gamechanger,” Davido said in a video message that the role gives him “a say in what is considered and voted on in each season.” He expressed gratitude for the honour and excitement about taking part in the Academy’s selection process.
Davido previously earned three Grammy nominations in 2024 but did not win.
His fourth nod came in 2025 for “Sensational,” his collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, which was nominated for Best African Music Performance but ultimately lost to Tems’ “Love Me Jeje.”
