Davido to donate N300m to orphanages in Nigeria

Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has announced his intention to donate the sum of N300 million through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), to orphanages across Nigeria. This generous act is part of his annual commitment to contributing to the nation’s welfare.

In a statement shared on his social media handle, Davido expressed his dedication, stating, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria… as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬”

This initiative echoes Davido’s past philanthropic endeavors. In 2023, he donated N237 million to various orphanages across the country, benefiting thousands of children. Through the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), chaired by Mrs. Titi Adebayo, funds were successfully distributed to 424 orphanages, significantly impacting the lives of 13,818 children.

Moreover, Davido’s commitment to charitable causes is evident in his previous efforts. In 2021, he rallied his friends and fans on Instagram to support his 29th birthday by donating N1 million each. The overwhelming response led to a total of N200 million raised, with Davido himself contributing N50 million. All proceeds were directed towards supporting orphanages in Nigeria.

The David Adeleke Foundation, established in 2022, embodies Davido’s dedication to assisting others and fostering positive change in Nigeria. Through ongoing charitable works and fundraising efforts, the foundation continues to uplift communities and improve the lives of vulnerable children across the nation.
