Deborah Samuel: It’s blasphemy to call Jesus a prophet – Yinak Yusuf warns

Rev. Yinka Yusuf has warned people against calling Jesus a prophet.

According to him, calling Jesus a prophet is blasphemy because Jesus is a message and not A messenger.

He was reacting to the controversy trailing the death of Deborah Samuel, who was accused of insulting Prophet Mohammed.

Many Muslim faithful justified the jungle justice against Deborah, saying the consequence of blasphemy is death.

Many of them claim they don’t insult Jesus, whom they described as Allah’s Prophet.

However, Yinka Yusuf believes it is wrong to call a message a messenger.

His statement reads below.

I was listening to the television two days ago and our dear president, President Buhari said something. He said that our religion respects and believes in all prophets, even Jesus Christ. That is blaspheming. Calling Jesus Christ a prophet is blaspheming. Because Jesus is not a prophet…but that’s the problem with religion.
Jesus from the day he was on earth till today, people are still calling him who he is not.

Jesus is not a prophet, he is too big to be a prophet. Never once did he call himself a prophet, it was the Jews that called him a prophet. A prophet is not a messenger. Jesus is not a messenger but the Message. How can the Message become a messenger?
