Former Vice President and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has deleted his tweet and Facebook post condemning the murder of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto.
IDOMA VOICE reports that Deborah, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education student was stoned to death and her body burnt by some male Muslim students for allegedly insulting Prophet Mohammed.
The incident has triggered nationwide reactions and condemnation.
Atiku, while reacting, said there is no justification for the gruesome murder of the Christian student.
He had tweeted, “There can not be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered, and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends.”
However, some Muslim faithful came under the post to attack him for his tweet.
The former VP has pulled down the posts.
A check on his Twitter handle and Facebook page on Friday morning showed that the posts were no longer there.
