Delta govt withdraws query issued to nursing student over viral ‘na your mama’ video

The Delta State Government has ordered the immediate withdrawal of a disciplinary query issued to Osato Edobor, a student of the School of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, over her involvement in a viral social media video during First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s recent visit.
In an official statement on Friday via X, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, confirmed the revocation of the query, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting students’ rights and fostering a conducive learning environment.
“The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, has directed the immediate withdrawal of the query issued to Nursing Student Osato Edobor by the Provost of the School of Nursing Sciences, Agbor,” the ministry stated in a public notice.
In a video address, Onojaeme reassured the public that the government had no intention of victimizing any student over the incident.
“Regarding the query issued to the student of the School of Nursing, Agbor, I’ve instructed the provost to withdraw the letter. We do not wish to victimise any student,” he said.
The commissioner further disclosed that he had personally contacted Edobor to confirm that the query had been officially withdrawn.
“I have spoken directly with the student, and she has confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn late last night,” Onojaeme added.
He urged the public to disregard any misinformation on the matter, reiterating that the state government remains focused on upholding fairness and ensuring that students are treated justly.
