Details of Buhari’s phone conversation with Oba of Lagos emerge

President Muhammadu Buhari, has Thursday October 29th 2020 called the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, to felicitate with him on the occasion of his 77th birthday.

Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement on said that the president again commiserated with the traditional ruler on the recent violence that led to the loss of lives and destruction properties in Lagos.

According to him: ”The President recalled his long association and friendship with the Oba and appreciated the personal role that the latter has played in nurturing the peace and development of Lagos state and nation as a whole,” Shehu said.

Recall that the Oba’s palace which was built in in 1670 was burgled in the previous week during the #EndSARS protest in the State and the Oba’s staff of office, artefacts, valuables, shoes, were carted away.

Rituals for Akiolu’s return to his official residence at Iga Idugaran, Lagos Island, have been completed.
