Diddy faces sentencing hearing as family rallies in court
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs appeared in court on Friday for what is expected to be a lengthy sentencing hearing, with members of his family present to offer support.
The 55-year-old music mogul, noticeably more subdued than the flamboyant persona he once projected, wore simple attire consisting of a button-down shirt, sweater, slacks, and lace-free shoes as required by the court. His greying hair further showed his restrained appearance as he awaited the outcome of his case.
His daughters, Chance, D’Lila, and Jessie, arrived shortly before the proceedings began, accompanied by their grandmother, Janice Combs, who has been a steady figure throughout the trial. Reuters photographs captured the family entering the courthouse with solemn expressions.
The hearing will feature arguments from both prosecution and defence over the length of Combs’ sentence. At least four of his attorneys are expected to present their case, while Combs himself is also scheduled to address the court. A significant testimony is anticipated from a witness identified during the trial by the pseudonym “Mia.”
In advance of the sentencing, dozens of letters from family members, friends, and supporters urging the court to show leniency have already been submitted for the judge’s consideration.
