A fire broke out at the Kwara State High Court Complex in Ilorin on Sunday night, damaging part of Courtroom No. 10.
The blaze began around 8:02 PM due to a power surge, as reported by the State Fire Service.
Fortunately, firefighters acted quickly to contain the fire, preventing further damage to the complex. Among the items lost in the incident were two air conditioners, a plasma TV, a fan, various documents, and furniture.
Hassan Adekunle, the Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, commended the firefighters for their swift response, a sentiment echoed by the Chief Judge of the state and the Special Adviser to the Governor.
This incident shows the importance of prioritising fire safety and remaining vigilant to prevent future outbreaks.
