The naira appreciated against the dollar at the close of business on Thursday in the foreign exchange market.
According to FMDQ data, the naira strengthened slightly to N1593.93 per dollar on Thursday, up from N1606.56 recorded on Wednesday. This represents an appreciation of N12.63.
However, in the black market, the naira depreciated to N1625 per dollar on Thursday, down from N1620 on Wednesday.
This movement comes as foreign exchange transaction turnover declined by $155.52 million on Thursday, compared to $160.94 million the previous day.
