According to FMDQ Security Exchange where forex is officially traded, the official exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar opened at ₦415.70/$1 on Friday, 7th January 2022, after it closed at ₦416.25 to a $1 on Thursday January 6th 2022.
The exchange rate for a dollar to naira at Lagos and Abuja Parallel Market (Black Market) for today, Friday, January 7th sells at ₦565/1$, and buy at ₦570 according to enquiring made from the Bureau De Change (BDC) this morning.
Though, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market (black market), as it has directed individuals who want to engage in Forex to approach their respective banks.
The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar opened at ₦420.6/$1 on Friday January 6th 2022 and closed at ₦416.25/$1 on Thursday, according to data from FMDQ.
