The Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) on Monday, October 28, 2025, recorded a marginal gain for the Naira against the US Dollar, even as the parallel market maintained relative stability.

According to official data, the exchange rate at the NFEM stood at ₦1,421.73 per dollar, reflecting a slight appreciation from previous levels, which hovered between ₦1,445 and ₦1,450 earlier in the day.

The official window continues to be crucial for importers, exporters, and businesses with regulatory foreign exchange needs.

In the parallel market, rates remained largely unchanged. Market sources quoted the following:

Buying Rate: ₦1,445–₦1,450 per $1

Selling Rate: ₦1,460–₦1,469  per $1

Analysts note that the narrowing gap between the official and parallel market rates signals a continuation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) ongoing efforts to harmonize the forex market and stabilize the naira through targeted interventions and policy measures.
