Don’t add to our woes – Shehu Sani begs Niger Delta militants

A former Senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Comrade Shehu Sani, has begged the war-baked Niger Delta militants against adding to the many troubles befalling Nigeria.
He was reacting to the recent treat the by militants to attack Abuja and Lagos.

Recall that a group of Niger Delta Militants, the Supreme Egbesu Liberation Fighters, had threatened to destroy infrastructure in Lagos and Abuja for federal government’s marginalization of the region and failing to deliver on the amnesty programme.

In a viral video posted by AIT, the group accused the federal government of not honoring their amnesty pact, saying, “till date, there are no schools, no potable water, no light, no hospital and access roads for our people to enjoy”.

However, Sani said it would cause more harm to the nation if the fighters from the oil rich region resume hostilities on oil facilities and the entire nation.

He tweeted, “An appeal to the Niger Delta militants not to add to our woes.”
