Prolific youth development advocate, Peace Ambassador and National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Professor Dickson Akoh, has told Nigerian youths to not allow themselves to be used as attack dogs by greedy politicians who would not be there for them when the chips are down.
Prof Akoh stated this Thursday afternoon at the Nigerian Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, during the public presentation and launching of the book, ‘The 4 Biographies That Can Inspire Your Greatness,’ authored by a Benue-born Blogger, King Apeh Peterhot.
Akoh expressed sadness that some youths who ordinarily should be scouting for ways to improve on themselves to fulfill destinies have literally turned themselves into attack dogs on the social media for greedy politicians whose children are schooling overseas, preparing themselves for a great future.
The youth ambassador enjoined other social media actors to emulate the life of King Apeh Peterhot, who, instead of allowing himself to be used as an attack dog by any politician, decided to carve a niche for himself by writing a book.
“I want other bloggers and social media actors to emulate King Apeh Peterhot by improving on themselves and their destinies by putting their thoughts together in a book or in other endeavors instead of allowing themselves to be used as attack dogs by greedy politicians who would not want them to explore their destinies and dreams but reduce them to underdogs whose only socioeconomic engagement is to attack their perceived adversaries.”
Professor Akoh said Peterhot is clearly ahead of his contemporaries on the social media because about 99% of them accepted to be used as attack dogs by greedy politicians who have their destinies tied down.
The book, amongst others, features Presidents Lincoln’s, Mandela’s and Governor Samuel Ortom’s poor early lives and how they maneuvered their ways out of the laggard misfortunes predestination foisted on them to become great personalities, and the lessons modern generations ought to emulate as they struggle for survival and fulfillment in their lives.
Speaking through Mr Gabriel Ode, the paramount ruler of Idoma ethnic nationality, HRM, Dr John Obagaji Odogbo extolled the author, King Apeh Peterhot, for the noble cause, adding that the entire Idoma nation is proud to have such a scholarly towering son whose book is set to inspire the world over.
On his part, the former Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Council, Hon Prince Samuel Onuh said, “Peterhot has chosen a career path that’s not treaded by many of his contemporaries. I will support him the best way I can.”
“I’m always elated when I see things like this and I encourage our youths, especially of the social media generation to not only read this book but also learn from Mr Peterhot who is using his God given talent to serve his peers and build a name and economic fortune from it.”
Other dignitaries at the event were Benue State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Samuel Ortom, ably represented by the Director, Benue State Liaison Office, Abuja, Dr Hemba Godwin, Realtor, Dr Peter Adejoh, former Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt Hon George Alli, former Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Council, Dr Adoyi Omale, Principal Special Assistant to Benue State Governor on Project Evaluation and Implementation, Barr Franc Utoo, Special Assistants to Benue State Governor on Media, Hon Cletus Emoche Agada and Prince Yemi Itodo, amongst others.
