Don’t allow Tinubu, govs to intimidate you – Sanusi tells Nigerians 

The 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, has delivered a stern admonition to Nigerians, urging them to rise above political complacency and not allow themselves to be taken for granted by politicians. Sanusi, who is renowned for his candid insights, voiced his concern over the prevailing state of affairs in the country.

In a candid video, Sanusi underscored the need for citizens to stand firm against intimidation, whether from the presidency or state governors. He lamented the tendency of many Nigerians to endure political mistreatment and emphasized that the present generation holds the responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s future for generations to come.

Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), emphasized that abstaining from direct involvement in politics does not render anyone inferior. He exhorted Nigerians to shed their inhibitions and take a firm stance against political excesses, underscoring that allowing unchecked actions of politicians to persist could jeopardize the very existence of the nation.

“We take too much rubbish, and we are all too afraid in our comfort zones. By the time these guys might have finished with us, our children will not have anywhere to call a nation,” Sanusi passionately asserted.

Drawing from his own experience, Sanusi highlighted that one need not be a politician to hold those in power accountable. He implored the younger generation to take an active role in shaping the country’s destiny, underscoring the importance of unifying efforts to foster positive change.

He emphasized, “The only way to retrieve our nation and give our children the future they deserve is, if you are not in politics, you must hold those in politics to account.”

Sanusi acknowledged that confronting political misconduct may not be comfortable, but he urged citizens to prioritize the nation’s well-being over personal comfort. He encouraged the youth to take the lead in nation-building, emphasizing that their dedication today will determine the trajectory of Nigeria’s future.
