Wife of Benue state Governor, Mrs Eunice Ortom has reportedly asked women of Benue Northwest senatorial zone not to vote for her husband’s opponent in the All Progressives Congress, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime because his wife is of Idoma tribe.
The first lady who said this during a rally for women of the zone held at the IBB square in Makurdi earlier today, added that there was no room for “amahue first lady” in government house – Amahue is a derogatory name for the Idoma people in Tiv language.
Mrs Ortom urged the women to vote her husband, saying the Governor is the only person that can defend Benue people from Fulani herdsmen attacks.
She promised that her husband would clear up the unpaid salary issue during his second term and ask the women to maintain their support for him.
