Drama as EFCC re-arrests Bobrisky at Lagos Airport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested social media personality and crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

The re-arrest came just days after his release on bail by Nigerian police authorities. The dramatic scene unfolded on Thursday evening as Bobrisky prepared to board a flight to London. Eyewitnesses reported that Nigerian authorities stopped the plane before takeoff, escorting him off in view of other passengers.

Shortly after, Bobrisky took to Instagram, posting, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”

This incident follows his detention by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) last week at the Seme border for allegedly attempting to leave the country. Bobrisky has been under investigation after an audio recording surfaced in which he allegedly claimed he had arranged to serve his six-month jail term outside of Kirikiri prison due to “influential connections.”
