Driver, one other injured as trailer rams into CBN building in Jos

A driver and another person got injured on Thursday after a trailer rammed into the Central Bank of Nigeria building in Jos, Plateau State.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness said the trailer, loaded with fertilizer, was heading towards the road leading to the CBN when it lost control at a roundabout in front of the apex bank and crashed into the building.

The witness said, “It was around 2am on Thursday when we heard a loud noise around the CBN. My house is close to the CBN building.

“So, when we came out to know what was happening, we saw that it was an accident involving a trailer which ran into the CBN building, destroying the fence. It took more than six hours before the driver and another person, who were trapped in the wreckage, were rescued.”

The Plateau State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Alphonsus Godwin, who confirmed the accident said, “There were three occupants; nobody died. Two sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital, but one of them did not sustain any wound. It’s amazing.”
