DSS arrest:‎ You are barbaric, inhuman – Benue APC slams Suswam

The All Progressives Congress, Benue State chapter has described the immediate past governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam as barbaric and inhuman.

The party said the recent raid of a house belonging to the ex-governor, where arms, exotic cars and other valuable items were discovered indicated that the current government never lied against the former leader.

A statement by Berger Alfred Emberga, the Acting Publicity Secretary of the party urged the people of the state to judge for themselves who had actually been feeding people with lies.

Emberga said, “The arrest of the former Governor of Benue State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam by the men of DSS, over the weekend in Abuja, and the items found in his possession, is a confirmation that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue State chapter, didn’t lie against him during the 2015 elections, when the party told Benue people that Suswam had led his gang to steal their commonwealth and elevated thuggery to statecraft.

“During the 2015 elections , APC raised alarm against the Suswam led-PDP administration of grossly misappropriating funds belonging to Benue state Government and at the same time using same to buy property for himself and also using thugs to molest and intimidate citizens.

“But some of the PDP naysayers argued vehemently that their man didn’t steal a dime nor divert money for personal aggrandizement. Even when a commission of inquiry set up by the State Government found that Suswam and 51 others misappropriated funds in the tune of N107 Billion, his supporters still argue that their man didn’t take a kobo out of Benue state coffers.

“But nothing could be further from the truth about someone who does not have a clean record as far as the appropriation of public funds is concerned.

“Over the weekend, men of DSS raided his private residence located at 44, Agoyi Ironsi, way Maitama, Abuja, and found 45 exotic car keys, 21 C of O, arms and ammunition. The news has exposed how inhuman and barbaric Suswam is.

“Now that DSS has investigated Suswam on their own without a petition against him by the APC led Government in that regard , and found such items in his possession, Benue people should judge for themselves and tell, between APC and PDP, who is telling the truth.

“Are they still going to doubt that the report of Justice Elizabeth Kpojime commission of inquiry which indicted Suswam and 51 others did a great job? Now that the principal actor in the Kpojime Commission of Inquiry’s report alone has over 45 car keys and 21 C of Os in his possession, where are his spin doctors?

“As for us, we can’t stop telling Benue people what we know about the past Government and there is no going back on the mission to recover all the monies, items and property acquired through dubious means by the administration of Gabriel Suswam.

“We wish to call on DSS to carry out the investigation of Suswam thoroughly, bearing in mind that the items they recovered from him are not up to one-quarter of what he has stolen from Benue coffers. Much more is yet to be discovered.”
