There was uproar in Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Tuesday, as operatives of the Forest and Hunters Guard harassed young girls who were spotted with coloured hair or wearing rugged jeans.
The forest guards, who were allegedly backed by men of the Department of State Service, DSS, shaved any girl seen with coloured hair.
Humanitarian worker, Ukan Kurugh, who captured the incident, said while the exercise lasted, the operatives were shooting sporadically.
IDOMA VOICE sighted a video of one of the ladies with coloured hair who was publicly shaved by the forest guards.
