DSS denies arrest of Miyetti Allah President

The Department of State Services (DSS) has refuted claims of the arrest of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore President, Bello Bodejo. According to DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya, Bodejo is not in the custody of the agency. In a brief statement on Tuesday night, Afunanya categorically stated, “He’s not with the DSS.”

Contrary to widespread reports suggesting Bodejo’s arrest at Miyetti Allah’s office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the DSS denies any such detention. Speculations linked the alleged arrest to the formation of a vigilante group known as the Nomad Vigilante Group by the Fulani socio-cultural organization.

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore introduced this vigilante group in Nasarawa the previous week, intending to collaborate with security agencies in addressing criminal activities in the north-central state. Bodejo mentioned that the vigilante group consisted of 1,144 Fulani youths selected from various communities across the state’s 13 LGAs. Furthermore, he revealed ongoing efforts in the profiling of individuals interested in joining, with a target to recruit up to 4,000 youths for the initiative.
