ECOWAS luring Tinubu to help them in their failures – Adamu Garba
Adamu Garba, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a warning to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), urging them not to divert President Bola Tinubu’s focus away from his core responsibilities in Nigeria.
In a social media post on Saturday, Garba criticized ECOWAS, suggesting that the regional bloc lacks substance without Nigeria’s involvement. He further alleged that ECOWAS is attempting to engage Tinubu to mitigate its own failures, as well as those of its French counterparts.
Garba’s statement underscored his belief that certain ECOWAS member states are attempting to entice Tinubu’s participation to address their inadequacies. He criticized this approach, implying that such efforts could detract from Tinubu’s efforts to fulfill his commitments within Nigeria. Garba’s perspective appeared to cast ECOWAS’ intentions as potentially driven by ulterior motives, citing the involvement of their “French masters.”
Additionally, the APC chieftain urged ECOWAS member nations to focus on domestic issues and prioritize cleaning up their own affairs. He accused some member states of betraying Nigeria’s dedicated efforts to support ECOWAS while facing its own internal challenges.
He wrote, “While we are fighting and sticking our whole neck in the name of ECOWAS, the same member states are betraying our efforts right within the folks.
“Abeg ECOWAS should stop distracting our President. They should let him focus on delivering his core mandate to Nigeria. We Nigerian trust and believes in our President’s capacity to do the right things for our country. We cannot save former failed Niger leaders and their colonial members from their obvious failures.
“The so-called ECOWAS block are empty shell without Nigeria. They are trying to lure our President to help them in their failures and that of their French masters, while we have a lot to do in Nigeria and we need our President to focus on our country.
“They should all go back to their home countries and clean their houses and leave us alone. We have a lot to do in Nigeria and we need 8 unceasing years of President Tinubu to help us fix things up in Nigeria. This is our priority.”
