Edumoga Massacre: Senator Abba Moro visits victims of Igama terrorist attack

Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, Monday morning, visited villagers displaced by the terrorists attack on Igama community, in Okpokwu LGA, and who are temporarily camped at Ojapo, to see for himself the level of destruction visited on the community on Sunday morning.

The attack by unknown armed men resulted in the death of several villagers and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.

Senator Moro who tried to hold back his tears said the attack was evil, unwarranted, unprovoked and barbaric. He said Igama was a peaceful community whose people live peacefully with one another and neighbors, and go about their farming and legitimate businesses peacefully, stating that the people did not deserve the attack.

He said what happened was unacceptable and called on the relevant security agents to go after the killers and their sponsors and bring them to book. He said nothing short of arrest and prosecution of the criminals who, according to him, have no value for human lives, would be accepted. He sympathized with families who lose loved ones and those displaced from their homes. He promised to work with the relevant authorities to ensure that they are well taken-cared of at the temporary IDP camp pending when they will return home.

The Senator was received by the Chairman of the LGA, Hon (Mrs) Amina Audu.
