EFCC arrests 46 suspected internet fraudsters in Calabar, Eket

The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Apprehends 46 Alleged Internet Fraudsters in Calabar and Eket In separate operations, the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a total of forty-six (46) suspected internet fraudsters in Calabar, Cross River State, and Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The arrests, conducted on October 13, 2023, in Calabar, and on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Eket, were intelligence-driven.

Twenty-two (22) individuals were apprehended in Calabar, including David Boniface Akani, Johnson Umuke, James Michael, Akeke Favour, Enange Benard, Godson Ubi, Eddie Godson, Eyo Jesse Bassey, Joachim Omuyeh, and Dickson Abang. Additionally, twenty-four (24) suspects were arrested in Eket, including Fonime John Etukudo, Nsisong Udoh, Saviour Daniel, Sampson Sunday, Joshua James Michael, and Paul Edet Etiemana.

The suspects were found in possession of advanced mobile phones, six high-end cars, and laptops. Once investigations are completed, the suspects will face legal action.
