EFCC nabs 33 fraudsters, seizes fake dollars in Port Harcourt

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 33 suspected internet fraudsters on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to an EFCC statement, the suspects were apprehended at hideouts in the Iwofe and Ogboro areas of the city. The arrests followed a sting operation based on credible intelligence regarding their involvement in internet-related fraud.

Items recovered from the suspects included mobile phones, laptops, counterfeit U.S. dollar bills, fake FBI stamps, forged customs documents, airport clearance, DHL and FedEx materials, and two cars.

The EFCC stated that the suspects will face charges in court once investigations are concluded.
