The North African nation has secured top honors in both the men’s and women’s categories, solidifying their position at the summit of the medal standings. Egypt maintains its lead with a total of 165 medals, comprising 92 gold, 40 silver, and 33 bronze medals.
Following Egypt is Nigeria in second place, having garnered 85 medals, including 31 gold, 22 silver, and 32 bronze medals. Rounding out the top five are South Africa, Algeria, and Tunisia.
The host nation, Ghana, holds the sixth position in the current medal standings. Meanwhile, Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco, and Ethiopia complete the top 10 in the rankings thus far.
