The abduction occurred on Monday evening along Emure – Eporo Road as the group was returning to Eporo after the school closed. The assailants fired at the bus, taking nine individuals, including five students, three female teachers, and a driver.

The police spokesperson reported, “All victims were rescued today at about 1.30 am, but unfortunately, we lost the driver who was suspectedly killed by the abductors.”

A government official in Emure Ekiti verified the release, stating, “The abductees are here, the parents and family members are here. I will give you details shortly.” Additionally, a source mentioned that state Ministry of Health officials were present to transport them to Ado Ekiti, the state capital, for medical attention.

Despite this success, Governor Biodun Oyebanji assured the parents and families of the kidnapped individuals on Saturday that efforts were underway to ensure the swift and safe return of the pupils and staff to reunite with their loved ones.
