Ekweremadu’s son, ex-gov Sullivan’s daughter nominated as Enugu commissioners
On Friday, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State announced the appointment of 15 commissioner nominees, featuring prominent personalities such as Chief Ike Ekweremadu’s son, Lloyd, and ex-Governor Sullivan’s daughter, Ada Chukwu.
The comprehensive list of nominations was submitted by the state Governor to the State House of Assembly and read on the floor of the House by Speaker Uche Ugwu on Friday in Enugu.
Among the distinguished nominees are veteran broadcaster Aka Eze Aka, Prof. Ndubueze Mba, Mrs. Ngozi Eni, Prof. Sam Ugwu, Chika Ugwoke, and Dr. Kingsley Ude.
Former commissioners Prof. Emmanuel Obi and Deacon Okey Ogbodo are also on the list, alongside Mrs. Ugochi Madueke, Dr. Malachy Agbo, Gerrald Otiji, Nathaniel Urama, and Prince Lawrence Ezeh.
Although the Secretary of State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, emphasized that the list may not be exhaustive, he urged the State House of Assembly to promptly consider the nominations.
“We appeal for your usual expeditious consideration of this request,” Onyia stated in the letter accompanying the list.
