Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has sued the Kaduna Assembly over allegations that his eight-year administration siphoned ₦432 billion, leaving the state with substantial debt liabilities.
According to Channels TV, the suit was filed by El-Rufai’s lawyer, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The lawsuit challenges the report by the Kaduna Assembly Committee, which indicted El-Rufai for alleged corruption.
On Wednesday, El-Rufai filed a fundamental rights suit at the Federal High Court in Kaduna against the state House of Assembly. The Assembly had accused the former governor and his commissioners of corruption and financial mismanagement during his tenure.
