The Executive chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue state, Hon. James Oche, on Wednesday, described the demise of the Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Jerome Torshimbe as a painful shock.
“With rude shock, excruciating pain and near disbelief, I received news of the sudden passing of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Jerome Torshimbe,” Oche wrote.
Hon. Oche in a statement he personally signed, stated that he was commiserating with the deceased’s family and Benue on behalf of Ado LG, noting that the latest Torshimbe was a dedicated servant of the state while alive.
He said: “With grief, I write to, on behalf of myself, my family and the people of Ado Local Government commiserate with his family, Immediate community and Benue State over his passing.
“Elder Jerome Torshimbe while alive promoted egalitarianism. He was a father, leader and mentor whose dedication to duty, honesty and dexterity was topnotch.
“Passing while in active service to the state underscores his zeal and commitment to a greater Benue. His statesmanship will be greatly missed. He has created a vacuum in our hearts hardly to be filled.
“While death remains a mystery, we, nurtured by our Christian faith comprehend it to be the gateway to be reunited with the father. Solaced by this, we pray the good lord to grant him merciful judgement while according us all, especially his family, the fortitude to bear his passing.”
