Elon Musk, the owner of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has reactivated the account of renowned American singer and fashion designer Kanye Omari West, widely known as Kanye West or Ye.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company clarified that while Kanye West’s account has been reinstated, he will not be able to monetize it, and no advertisements will appear alongside his posts.
With 31.5 million followers, Kanye’s account now boasts a golden verification tick, signifying X’s recognition of it as an official business account.
In December 2022, the rapper’s account was suspended for violating the platform’s rules on inciting violence due to multiple antisemitic comments.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Kanye submitted an appeal or if another reason prompted the reactivation of his account, as the singer has yet to post on the platform.
