Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo state, has appointed Akwarandu Izuchukwu as his senior special assistant on new media.
Akwarandu, 29, was the pioneer director-general of Imo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) new media directorate.
He graduated from Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) in 2013, with bachelor of arts in english and literary studies.
Akwarandu served as president, National Association of English and Literary Studies between 2012 and 2013. He was also a member of the PDP 2019 campaign council and transition technical committee of the Imo state government, also in 2019.
He also appointed Chudi Uwazurike, special adviser (diaspora), Jones Onyereri, special adviser (political), and Jeff Ojinika, special adviser (inter-party).
Others are Sonny Ogulewe, senior special assistant (admin), secretary to state government’s (SSG) office, Richmond Osuji, senior special assistant (rural development), Anselm Okorie, senior special assistant (SDGs) and Uche Udozor, senior special assistant (agricultural development).
The appointees include Abba Chimaraoke, senior special assistant (ICT and e-governance), Estella Mbadiwe, senior special assistant (health services), Emeka Opara, senior special assistant (legal matters), and Adaora Onyechere, special assistant to the governor on information and advocacy.
The governor said he believed that the wealth of experience of the appointees would add value to the re-building of the state.
He also said the appointments took immediate effect.
